WE ARE CLOSER THAN EVER.

How do you define "culture" in the world we live in?
In ancient Asia, people loaded up goods like silk and porcelain on camels and walked through the Silk Road, which stretched over 6400 kilometers and connected the East with West. This route, riddled with desolate conditions and threats from bandits, took months to complete, but the rewards were great: trade, commerce flourished and the exchange of ideas, information, and culture at large was common.

But now, we are closer than ever.


Various media platforms, social and otherwise, constantly provide updates on what is happening. Information, ideas, culture, and more are shared by the second. And although context is often omitted, we've come to simply accept rather than dwell on differences.
We are constantly influencing and being influenced by each other, and a case can be made that what defines "culture" now is how this influx of individual differences, and a mix-and-match of it all, can bring about some sort of a harmony.
After all, a series of seemingly insignificant choices we make in favor of the unfamiliar have always resulted in the creation of something new.
